K2Dance offers innovative, professional and dynamic Dance tuition in a multitude of styles including Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Classical Ballet, Acrobatics, Tap and Musical Theatre.

Tinies Jazz provides an introduction to Dance and movement for 2-4 yr olds. The class consists of a variety of different warm-ups with development of basic strength, flexibility and fitness through games and movement activities. The class then moves to developing skills such as skipping, galloping, walking and pointing/flexing toes as well as other Dance skills. Finally, the class explores learning Dance sequences (stories), with the aid of costumes and props to learn about how Dance communicates meaning. Within this section of the class, there are elements of free movement and expression to encourage creativity and expressive movement. As well as Dance skills the class encourages learning classroom behaviour skills, movement concepts, cooperation and social skills.


Tiny Tumblers is an Acrobatics based class for 2-4 yr olds. The class explores basic Acrobatics skills such as rolling, pre-cartwheel, pre-handstand, baby back bends, basic balances, as well as limbering / stretching skills and Acrobatic shapes. Students are also taught gross locomotor skills such as running, galloping, hopping and skipping. With Acro equipment such as mini tramps and mats students are also introduced to safe landings from jumps and other Acrobatics skills. As well as Tumbling skills the class encourages learning classroom behaviour skills, movement concepts, cooperation and social skills.


Tinies Ballet provides an introduction to Classical Ballet and movement for 2-5 yr olds. Weekday classes are broken down into 2 levels with a 2-3 yr old 30 minute class and a 3.5-5 yr old 45 minute class.

An introduction to Irish Dance for 2-4yr olds. Taught by former Riverdance performer Niamh Champion, Tinies Irish, presents an introduction to Irish Dance in an age-appropriate, fun and exciting class. It develops the fundamental basics of Irish dancing and introduces a passion and love of this genre. The class also develops fitness, flexibility, coordination and develops social skills.



Pom Cheer Dance is an exciting and fun class that focuses on clean, sharp lines, dance formations, cheerleading jumps and lifts. Dance sequences and skills learned focus on sharp staccato-type movements with influences from Jazz and Hip Hop. The class also includes Acrobatics and tumbling elements. Pom Cheer Dance develops technical dancers, improves fitness levels, flexibility and core stability, and encourages the importance of teamwork and the ensemble.



Jazz is a fast paced dance style and works to increase fitness, strength, technique and flexibility and is taught to a range of popular music (i.e. R’n’B, Soul, Pop, Hip Hop). Each class involves learning a dance routine and uses simple progressions and break down of various steps. No experience required. These classes are designed to provide you with a confidence boost and improve co-ordination with musicality. Commercial Jazz is known to be a highly choreographed dance form. It features a mixture of sharp and fluid movements, popping & locking and animated expressions similar to dances seen on commercial video clips. This stylized combination of street funk, hip hop and pop is similar to styles seen in music videos for, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson. K2Dance offers Jazz Dance classes that work within all Jazz Dance styles.


Hip hop has a diverse variety of cultural identities including fashion, music, language, sports and of course, dance! Hip hop is all about the music and moving in a smooth and funky way. This dance form is heavily influencing the new genre of ‘commercial’ dance seen in most music-videos. Classes are a fantastic cardio workout and are designed to improve rhythm, fitness, body awareness, coordination and quality of movement in the style of dance. Learn choreographed routines while developing freestyle skills.


Contemporary is an expressive dance form with a free, artistic and creative feel. Contemporary draws a lot of its technique from classical ballet but unlike ballet, Contemporary Dance often focuses on floor work and grounded movement – dancers will usually perform with bare feet. Principles of contemporary dance include centering, alignment, gravity, contraction, release and suspension. It also uses expression and emotion to portray images, lyrics and feelings.


K2Dance is well renowned for its Acrobatics Program due to its highly trained staff members Haydn Shadforth and Director Kristal Twight.

Acrobatics is the performance of human feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination. Acrobatic skills can be used in dance performances in most styles and is a great adjunct to our Dance Program. In this class you will build strength and flexibility enabling skills such as Handstand, Cartwheel, Back flips, back saults, Front walkovers, aerial work plus more!

Who doesn’t want to do that? Acrobatics is fun, energetic and great for fitness.


Lyrical dance is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and contemporary.

Lyrical dance is strongly associated with clearly displayed emotional moods, fast-moving choreographic strategies, emphasis on virtuosic display, illustration of song lyrics, and, in group form, exact unison.

The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz.


Classical Ballet is a traditional dance style. It is known for its aesthetics and rigorous technique (such as pointe work, turnout of the legs, and high extensions), it’s flowing, precise movements, and its ethereal qualities.

Classical Ballet provides a great grounding for all other dance styles. It is a highly disciplined art form, requiring students to be attentive and focused… Ask any professional Jazz, Contemporary or Hip Hop dancer and they will advise taking Classical Ballet!

Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole. Although musical theatre overlaps with other theatrical forms like opera and dance.

In Musical Theatre at K2Dance students will learn how to Dance, Act and Sing!
