Gemma Hatherley

Teaching Staff

Gemma trained as an elite Gymnast from 3 years old. After years of gymnastics training, Gemma switched to dance at age 14. She danced at Toodyay Ballet school, training with Lani McGeady.

In 2018, she became a boarding student in Perth to finish high school at Methodist Ladies College. She started dancing at K2dance and quickly fell in love with the loving and energetic environment. She trained in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and was a part of the k2Dance performance company in 2018 and 2019. She did ATAR dance in year 11 and 12, extending her knowledge of dance history and her contemporary technique. She was a student at the studio until she graduated high school in 2020. In 2021 she commenced her role as an assistant dance teacher and took on a teaching role in 2022.

Gemma studies Nursing at the University of Notre Dame, with a particular interest in paediatric and adolescent health. She adores the children she teaches and is dedicated to seeing them improve and grow their love for dance.
