Rebecca Moonen

Teaching Staff

Rebecca began her dance training at age five specialising in Classical Ballet, Tap, and Jazz through the CSTD syllabus. She has competed in numerous eisteddfods and dance competitions throughout WA, winning many awards including Dancer of the Festival. Rebecca has also performed and choreographed for a variety of sporting matches, corporate events and promotional activities.

Throughout her dance career Rebecca has taught at some of Perth’s most dynamic schools, the career highlight being the opening of her own studio. She has furthered her dance training at home and abroad, learning from industry greats such as Dein Perry (Tap Dogs); Mia Michaels (SYTYCD); Movin’ Melvin Brown; Sarah Reich (Postmodern Jukebox), as well as attending dance teacher conferences and specialist classes in London, New York, and Melbourne.

Over the past 3 years Rebecca has undertaken advanced residencies during the Australian Tap Dance Festival studying under Melinda Sullivan, Roxanne Butterfly, and Michelle Dorrance. A dance teacher by night, Rebecca is also a cyber-security expert who regularly visits schools to discuss online safety with students. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Commerce, in addition to Full CSTD Teaching Diplomas in both Theatrical and Tap.
